Our Xpressions Retreat, open to all Ohio writers, takes place in Cleveland, OH. This program is tailor-fitted for writers and spoken-word artists seeking to dive deeper into their craft. Whether you're a seasoned wordsmith or new to the world of performance, this retreat is designed to spark your individual craft and fuel your creative journey.

Through a dynamic blend of interactive sessions, collaborative projects, and insightful discussions, participants will have the opportunity to expand their horizons, hone their skills, and forge meaningful connections with other literary artists in the state. By the end of our three day journey, participants will end our time together with a collaborative public reading for the community of Cleveland to enjoy.

Comprehensive
Skill-Based Workshops
The workshops hosted at our Xpressions Retreat invite participants to approach their writing and performances with responsibility, introspection, and responsiveness. Each workshop is curated to develop the skills of each artist while providing community to find peer-support as new information arises.
Focus #2
Professional Artistic Development
Alongside being an artist, we explore the ways in which we show up professionally. Before and after ink is on the page and beyond performing on the stage, we must understand how "the art" works. Through activities and guided workshops, we examine what artists need and identify what artists must do to establish and further develop their careers.

Public Performance Showcases
To celebrate the last day of the retreat, we end with an open mic, open to the public. After being immersed inside of workshops, participants then share their gifts with the community. Poets and performers are welcomed to share anything they've created or worked on over the course of the retreat while being encouraged to practice the skills targeted during coaching and workshop sessions.
